The Concert Bands consist of 4 bands - Concert I, Concert II, Symphonic I, and Symphonic II. In addition to these bands, students may participate in any of the numerous optional bands and ensembles such as the percussion ensemble, the jazz band (I and II), and the woodwind quintet.

Statistics indicate that if a student participates in music, he or she is likely to earn higher grades and score better on standardized tests.  Now there is powerful evidence of a cause and effect link between music instruction and intelligence! There are dozens of recent studies that indicate that being involved in musical activities is a key component of academic success.  The Walton High School Band provides an excellent opportunity for your child to enjoy the benefits that making music can bring.

Playing an instrument can be a very rewarding and fulfilling experience.  Besides the musical opportunities, being in band allows students to develop friendships, travel, and develop very important life skills.  Being in band also means being a part of one of the largest organizations on campus at Walton.
