REHEARSAL CHANGE NOTICE!

The After-school rehearsal scheduled for Thursday, February 25th for the 8-1 and 7-2 Band Classes has been rescheduled to:
WEDNESDAY, March 10th
2:15 – 4:30 pm
This is an early release day, so students will rehearse during the Early Release time, and still be able to go home at the normal time. Parents must arrange for a ride home for their children after the rehearsal.

COMMERATIVE PLAQUES and T-SHIRTS

Commemorative plaques and T-shirts will be available for purchase at the National Festival. Order forms are available here that can be printed and sent with your child. There is a place for credit card information if you don't want to send cash. No order form is necessary for a T-Shirt if you just want to send cash.

Walton Band and
Walton Color Guard Dance Company

8^th Graders, are you interested in participating in the Walton Band or Color Guard Dance Company next year?

The Walton Band is hosting an informational meeting for parents and students entering Walton next year who are considering the band and color guard dance programs. The meeting will be held Monday evening, February 8, at 7pm in the Walton Band Room.  Please see attached flyer for additional information.

State Large Group Performance Evaluation

The Dickerson Bands will be participating in the GMEA Large Group Performance Evaluation in March. LGPE is the band's version of standardized testing, and it is very important that all students participate in this event! Each group will perform a concert for three band evaluators, a woodwind evaluator, a brass evaluator, and an percussion evaluator. The groups will also have a clinic and will be evaluated on their sight-reading ability.

Listed below is each band's performance date, time, and location. Clicking on the band name will download the information letter and permission form sent home Friday, January 29th. Permission forms are due back by Friday, February 12th.

Dickerson 7/8 Concert Band (7-2 and 8-1 classes) - Tuesday, March 23rd - 7:00 pm - Kell High School
Dickerson 7th Grade Symphonic Band (7-1 class) - Thursday, March 25th - 4:55 pm - Kell High School

In preparation for this event, the 7/8 Concert Band and 7th Grade Symphonic Band will have a rehearsal on Thursday, February 25th after school from 4:30 - 6:30 pm. Please make arrangements for your child to attend.
